Slayed em' on 9/11

I’m going fishing when it lays down next week, on Tuesday. I’m going to the Grand Banks south of R-7. I’m going to load up on grouper and snapper. Wednesday, if I can take anymore, I’ll go to the Deli and nail a few pelagics in the 3 degree cooler water. Doing all my boat maintainence while it’s rolling out there. Just thought I’d let you all know. Hope you don’t mind the early post.:smiley::smiley:

Think how stupid the average person is, then realize that half the people are dumber than that.

Court,

Best of luck!

Let me know if you need a mate or want to tandem. My gear has been ready to go since the last trip got cancelled!

John, I’ll put you on the list. Keep an eye on the weather. We’ll chat this weekend.

Courtland,
Heres a pic from the last trip. The rest arent very good but I’ll forward them if your still interested in seeing them. It looks like I might have a hard time finding a crew for the middle of the week. My regulars are both leaving town!

If any one needs a mate, I am available every weekend.

in the last tourny in obx, we had a huge ass oceantic white tip come and hit one of our big blue marlin baits. after hearing all the yelling, i turned around and to me seeing the tail whip around, i thought it was about a 600 or 700 pound blue one but after snapping the 500 lb. leader…it obviously wasnt:roll_eyes:

We were popping John’s cherry on schoolie dolphin. I quickly gained interest in the 2 large dark shadows about 50’ below the school. The first fish (not pictured) was a 350-ish tiger that was dumping me on a 30# then turned and chewed his way past the metal leader and bit me off. This(pictured) was I believe a silky in the 8’ range. Not a great fight but awesome to see. If you look close you can see the head and tail of the dolphin sticking out both sides of his mouth. At one point I was standing up on the transom and had the sharks head two feet out of the water, eyes rolled back chomping on the dolphin. Good fun!

If it were a mako you hopefully would have seen a flying gaff and a tail rope somewhere in that picture. Ever free-gaff a mako? Now that’s fun!

I guess since there has’nt been anything good to report in the last couple of weeks I may as well
post these.
There are’nt any pics of the schoolies, except for the one Courtland fed to the shark, because I
either had a rod or a filet knife in my hand.Tasty!

too bad you didnt have a harpoon for that last picture
