Slick ocean, diving

Got an invite to dive on the High Yield with a great crew. Viz around 30/40’ no thermocline and the ocean was flat calm. Mor bugs then fish today and ended up with 12 bugs a nice hogfish a few grouper and some nice flounder. caught some really large bugs today but half still had eggs and were released. Had some new divers on the crew today that shot a Large Grouper (turned out to be a sponge) and missed a few good ones but everybody dove safe and we had a great time. The Capt did a great job keeping such a large boat over the divers and on spot recovering the lift bags. Lot of big red snapper out there today!

Showoff, Ricky had a great day!

If it got any better I couldn’t stand it.

Some good eats for sure.

Good diving sir!

Set the trap boys, we going to pass through them again!!

Nice haul as usual… I’d love to know how that sponge tastes, I hear they are outstanding with drawn garlic butter and grits!

got some nice groceries there nice job!

I bet sponges just soak up flavor. I’d go for a butter and white wine truffle reduction.

I would go diving for bugs and grouper, but panicking when my foot hits the water presents a slight problem. Great shooting, catching, fishing or what ever you call it!

Thanks, Yellabird where would one dive for them (how deep, area, ect)and is there a season???
