Saturday 31 May
Left Remley’s at 2am with Go Fish, lil 2 Sleepy and David. David, you need a handle.
Great ride out, cleared the shipping lane, put the autopilot on, and ran at 25 without so much as a bump to the ledge. Lines in right at day break. Flat seas all day. Things have really warmed up. Most of the water temps were 76/77 degrees.
Put one fin in the boat and then one Blackfin Tuna. Being slow, we decided to run for the Terrace. Nothing. No rips or weed lines. Next action was hours later we hooked the dreaded Cuda.
Kind of went down hill from there. Made the mistake of working North instead of going deeper. High light was finding a new snapper hole. We made a few drops after clearing lines and could of cleaned up. We put 2 reds and about 10 nice vermillion in the boat. At least the fish box had a little color.
Some how, I fat fingered my Garmin 540 and slicked every number in it I had. Including my new snapper hole. It even took my auto pilot off line. Got the Jetty numbers from my back up and plugged them in. Go Fish drove until I figured out how to re-initialize the Auto Pilot. Ride in was not bad, but it did get a bit sporty the last few miles. Boat was thoroughly washed down by the time we got through the rocks.
Thanks for fishing guy!
