Slow Action 10/2 to 10/4

Fished out of Big Bay Creek Friday and Sunday, and Steamboat Landing on Saturday. Bite was pretty sluggish, considering it’s October. We managed a few (3) upper-slot reds, mostly caught tailing on the flood tide, some short trout on shrimp, and a few croakers and pinfish. It was a little disappointing, but that’s fishing. We saw a lot more big reds on the flats but couldn’t get them to bite.

Stained water and a sustained wind made for some fairly frustrating fishing and anchoring. Hope to get back down next weekend.

Better than a goose egg, amirite?! Those flats fish will give you whiplash trying to lock on to where they just pushed the water, but man that’s fun to chase em isnt it!? Thanks for the report:+1:

…well, some fishing too!

Agree 100%, I look at every day on the water as a gift. Catching fish is just a bonus.

And yes, those flats fish are frustrating but equally rewarding… just like everything else in fishing! Tight lines.
