Slow bottom fishing Saturday

I I haven’t been sent the pictures yet but I thought I’d share the report for whoever may be going out soon.
Bottom fishing north was slow. Sonar looked only so so and even chicken rigs weren’t getting much action in most areas we tried. We did loose one butterfly jig to a nice fish in a wreck so we sent dives down and brought back a few nice gags including the one with the jig still in the corner of its mouth.
Nasty thermocline at the bottom with <10’ vis. Big AJs and monster cudas everwhere, just not the normal mix of reef fish. We were relateively shallow so I think they all must have pushed out deeper to get out of the snotty thermocline.

The fishing was slow for many people I’m hearing. Don’t worry, bait and small seabass were there but not much. Really nothing down there right now so they are taking the week off and went out deep I think.

Same experience on Sunday. Fished at 95’, only one vermillion, but we did manage three nice cobia. AJ’s were bad.

Olde Man Charters

Same thing we found yesterday out of Savannah. Weird bite, fished 90-110. Nice Grouper!!

Just got back from the mountains and glad to see you are still getting out there. Appreciate the report as I may sneak out later this week.

Jordan,

Thank you for the help and being “Captain” for the day. It’s always comforting to know someone with experience is in control of the boat while divers are below. Let’s do it again soon.
