Slow day

Headed offshore yesterday. Waited till daylight to find live bait and couldn’t find any menhaden from Shem Creek to the harbor. Jigged some minnows at the C bouy then tossed the cast net on what turned out to be some nice ballyhoo. I’m just wondering If anyone targets these for live bait like they do down south (chum and hoop net) Oh yeah, in case the forum police are reading this… found a confused weed line around 700’ and couldn’t get a bite until we found some birds and a **** load of peanuts to at least jerk the line!

There were an assload of menhaden in the Ashley River on Thursday last week, was close to low on an outgoing tide.
