Fished around Paradise on Saturday. Pulled up to the ramp at 6:50 AM and it immediately started pouring, with bad wind and lightning. Sat there until 8…
The artificial bite was non-existent and the live bait was slow. Ended up with a handful of small trout and a half dozen reds. Few rats, couple reds in the 20"s, and one big momma topping at 36".
The big one hit a mud minnow about 2 feet under a floater on the edge of the grass line. She pulled me straight into the grass and buried me, turned around and headed out to the main river. Good fun!
Your slow day would constitute my top day. Wish I had more problems with these ‘slow’ days I’d like to read about one of your stellar days on the river.
I have been out there a few times and fished the grass lines with live shrimp and mudd minnows at both tides and haven’t even received a bite! I have given up on that place for that reason.
