Slow troll day that ended with a bang...5/18

Trolled for a few hours with no luck. On our way back in to do some bottom fishing, we came up on a raft floating in about 140 ft. We went over to check it out and it was crowded with dolphin, sharks and a few wahoo…one of which was HUGE! Had an hour or so pitching naked ballyhoo and hooking them up. Was cool to see my 12 year old daughter and 15 year old niece so excited and doing a great job pitching, hooking and landing the fish. I had the huge wahoo hit my bait, but the spinning reel had no chance…and after ripping off the reel for 20 seconds or so, he broke off.

Very cool. Nice mahi!

It’s all the finer when the kids get in on the action. Nice post and pic.

what kind of raft was it ???

Looked like just an old school type of canvas style beach raft…maybe 2ft by 4ft. Should have taken more pictures/video, but it was a chinese fire drill trying to get the young ladies hooked up.

Great post, thanks.
