Small trout ???

Almost every time we’ve been out this year.We have caught big numbers 60 or 70 trout. Most of them being 13"-14". Have managed few good sized fish along the way.I live N Myrtle. Talked to a few others around NMB. Some of them have had the same kind of days. Are y’all in Charleston doing the same?

Noticed the same thing. Last year they seemed to be much bigger.

Pretty bad fish kill with the cold water last winter. Lots of smaller fish is good news for next year, if the winter is not too bad

Weird but I am seeing the exact opposite. Not very many trout at all but the ones that hit are 18+.

May be my tactics.

My fall/winter has been somewhere in the middle so far. We’re still catching some larger trout (19"-21") and we haven’t seen a huge drop off in numbers either. Granted, we had a couple of days where we got close to that 100 fish mark last year and our best so far this year has been closer to 50 or 60 so I guess technically that’s a “drop off” but not one of epic fish kill standards.

The good / encouraging thing is that we are catching all year classes of trout this fall. 5" to 22+" and everything in between. We probably had a great spawning year (hopefully) as well.
