Rode with a good friend on his 29 fountain on a beautiful ocean this AM, chop picked up at the 180 ft line, staring at 80 degree water on the graph. I thought that NCOOS was off but it was dead on last night.
Lines in at 7:30, 7:45 we have all rods hooked up and chinese fire drill. School comes to the boat, we pitch to them for an hour., wore slap out! Box is running out of room quick. things continue catching doubles, singles, Bulls galore.
Things slow for about an hour, due to drifting away from spot and losing mark. (new to me lowrance GPS), we figure out the GPS and get back on the spot, and its back on. All fish caught within 1 square mile, over 30 fish, I quit counting, to tired to dig to bottom of box. We started putting fish in livewell, no kidding. You would be amazed at how many cows will fit in a Fountain livewell.
Any how beautiful day on the water. Sun shining bright and great water until ride back in at about 20 miles off, got choppy but the Fountain rode like a dream. I can stand riding in that caddy.![]()
No pics, tooo ■■■■ busy rigging baits and gaffing fish to mess with it. Went through about five or more bags of bait. Lost too many fish to count. Saw a big ol hammer head, saw another shark go through the spread just as we are fighting two mauis. Oh, I almost forgot…Had a billfish of some kind on the hook for a brief moment, could not tell if it was a Sail or marlin but saw that Bill slashing the baits. He pulled back as I set the hook, he was there for a minute and then he was gone…
A GREAT day to be on the water!
Fishing on the bottom is like having sex with the lights turned off. It feels good but I wanna see it.
Lights On!
