Smith & Wesson M&P .40 (compact). Gun has about 200 rounds through it total. Has been cleaned every time it was shot and is in perfect condition. I am simply selling it so that I can trade up and buy something bigger. Comes with 3 interchangeable backstraps and two magazines. Thoughts on this being a first ever gun for a lady? She has never shot before. Would attend an ATP class. The gun would be only for home defense and only shot a few times a year for familiarization.

Again, only my opinion (you’ll get dozens), but a compact 40 cal probably not the best to start a lady on. Especially if she has never shot before.
Compact guns are hard to handle because of their small size. Add in the recoil of 40 S&W, and this one is not the one for her in MY OPINION.
Best bet for someone who has never shot before is to go shoot. Go to ATP and shoot all kinds of stuff and let her decide what SHE is comfortable with.
Also, although I don’t like ATP, they have a WONDERFUL ladies night class that is taught by women…it’s A+++++
