Well, I didn’t actually smoke them, but a friend did. Took some of the smaller fish we caught this this morning threw them on the smoker. That was the first time I ever tried them smoked and they were great. I’ll be picking up a smoker for sure.

Looks delicious! Did yall leave the skin on? Doesn’t look like yall trimmed any red… I’m always looking for different ways to try our favorite fish. Might be a good excuse to go buy the smoker box for my Chargriller!

Tim thanks for the reassurance. My father in law has been asking for some striper to smoke. Is skin still on? Seasoned? Time frame? Bobby D took all our fish today, he likes them fried. I just dont fry much anymore…looks great, cant wait to try.

Yea…skin is on and he did leave the red meat. We just ate around it. He just dropped off some for me to try but I will find out all the seasoning/smoking details.

the only reason that i took the fish today was that i asked seth and chip 5 times if they wanted any fish. no, no , no, everytime. however; i have no problem fileting these tasty rascals. i like to fry up nuggets but also really like to grill them or smoke them. either way; i have plenty for now. thanks to chip and his expertise at finding the fish.
Tim, Will trade some Fish Jerky for some Smoked when you have it figured out. I’ve tried smoking striper, but have not gotten the results I like. Just gives one, one more reason to GO FISHING.
Sure. It was Rob that was out with me and smoked the fish. I’ll be picking his brain to find out how he seasons them. He told me what kind of wood chips he uses today, but I forgot now. lol I do remember it was not hickory or mosquite though. I also found out that the red meat is good to eat when they are smoked and I should have ate that too.

Bobby, seth nor I wanted any. Thats generally why we dont fish a ton in the summer, unless I can take someone who needs or wants some fish. I wasnt trying to sound like “YOU TOOK” all the fish…lol…was really just kinda stating we caught some nice fish. I usually dont post reports this time if yr because they are carbon copies of everyone elses…lol…
