Any got an idea of what kind this is? Probably about 2.5’ long, mostly dark brown with red bands on the sides. I was thinking (hoping) a corn snake but that’s really a wag on my part. Hopefully I’m able to upload the pic or this is pointless…

I don’t mind going to work but this sitting here for 8 hours waiting to go fish is bull.
Banded water snake, aka southern water snake.
Way too fat for a corn snake and not bright enough. Too skinny for a water moccasin.

well i’m glad i got it out of the road before it got flattened. i can definitely see how it would be mis-ID’d and killed as a result.
pit if you ever got ripped by one of those things you would call it something but harmless lol
