Snapper Banks 7-27-08 (late report)

Fished the the snapper banks with some good friends out of the Savannah Yatch Club on their newly rebuilt/retro Hatteras. Not much to the bottom dwellers, regular suspects (bsb, b-liners, and a few short ars). The king & cuda bite was going off:smiley:. Killed three kings for the Savannah Sport Fishing Club tourn., (38, 28, & 25). I think the captain went to the top of the board. Wish we were fishing the Charleston Tourn. First fish of the day was a sail in 100 ft, saw another free jumping shortly after the release. Awsome boat, good friends, and flowing cocktails made for a slow Sunday & Monday.

One happy crew :dizzy_face::

nice report and pics. No reason to call the sailfish police on this one:smiley:

Sounds like the sails and dolphin have been moving in pretty close. A lot of people posting seeing free jumpers around the Y-73 and Comanche area

What are people using for bait currently when bottom fishing for triggers, snappers, grouper, etc??? Usine live bait or the usual squid, frozen cigars, fileted gruts?
