Anything new?
Called DNR yesterday they are waiting to hear from NMFS Southeast Science Center. SAFMC recommended they open on three weekends for 3 days each Friday Saturday and Sunday for a max of nine days of potential fishing. you can also visit the SAFMC site for updates https://safmc.net/
Called today, 10-25-17, and they are still waiting. I’m optimistic but seriously question if this will happen this year.

1 Fish per day per person. That’s not even worth going. It would be cheaper to risk getting caught with some out of season. Just pay the fine.
Of course the weekends when I have to move and then attend a conference in Florida lol. Wish it was open yesterday dang it. Had a couple nice ones of course

Didn’t expect much more than that. Only positive thing is the state record up for grabs during a legal harvest.
Here’s a healthy one from back in 2014 when I was chartering full-time
I was hoping for 3 Fish per. I would of came down from the upstate for that. I’ll go to Tennessee striper fishing instead.
Doesn’t look like the weather is going to cooperate anyway, 4 x7 footers with a 15 mph NE blow for Friday and Saturday.
