So depressed!

So I just got the skiff outta the shop from back home in the mountains and I head down to the IOP last night, up early to fish today. @ the shop they put in a new seal/gasket kit, and a new water pump they said cause they might as well since they were in there. I put her in the water and into gear and all I hear is clicking like it can’t get into gear then the warning alarm goes off and then it turns off, the prop seems to rotate more than usual when I hooked it up to the earmuffs, when it is off and out of the water the prop wont turn one direction at all? You can hear the clicking in the upper section of the foot as well. Called the shop at home and they of course will fix but the weekend is now done for me. Additionally do any of you guys know people that work on motors, maybe on the side or whatever, I would like to meet someone like that because i come down only on weekends and when this tyoe stuff happens there is no time to take to a shop around here. Sorry so long a post just really bummed out. Thanks

Barry

Wow, that’s a REAL BUMMER!

Sounds like something is either loose or at least out of adjustment in your shifter assembly area. Might be inside the shifter/exhaust housing above the foot, or could be in the engine cover area.
Also, if the alarm came on, was the water pump even working? Had it already overheated the engine too?

I do some ‘minor’ repairs in Mt. P on the weekends and evenings, drop me a PM if you need some help sometime. Going hunting today until Sat about 3PM, but I’ll be home afterwards.
Better Luck!

Dang. I’ll shoot you a PM. Let me know if this guy is still doing side work. He was REAL good but, now I just use a full time guy around here. Ty
