so you use the flourocarbon as a leader..???

green line down to swivel…then change???

i use what ever my main line is never seen a differance between colors or size

I am not sure that it matters…the point of the leader is separation and/or protection and/or freeing lures for movement. Offshore you use different/stronger leader materials because those bad boys have teeth!

I just bought that invisible leader crap because I can’t help myself when I see stuff at sportsmans crackhouse. Guess what. It is not invisible. It looks like clear mono.

I use the clear, Trilene XL, 12#. I use that for the leader as well.

ditto steely

don’t know that it matters all that much. the flouro seems to be a bit stiffer, is denser than water so it sinks, and is more abrasion resistant. used main line for leader many years and it worked fine. better mouse trap syndrome, i guess.

I have never tried it for stripers. But flyfishing for steelhead it makes all the difference. When water was low and clear nobody else could get hits. With 4# flouro they never spooked, with mono the fish would move out of the way.

I spool my reels with 15lb. line. After the swivel, I use 12 lb. leader(flouro). If you get hung in a tree, or snagged up, the leader is all you have to re-tie. Just a suggestion.
