Soft Jerk Baits

Been cleaning up my fishing room all morning and running across stuff been sitting in there for years. Ran across a bunch of Sluggo soft jerk baits, but they are a color that has never worked very well for me…probably why I had so many sitting up.

I have painted plugs before when I wanted to change to a different colors, but never tried on a soft bait. Anyone ever done this befoe or have any ideas on what may work? Maybe some kind of dye? Paint for plastic? They’re fairly cheap and I can always buy others, but I’d like to play with some colors they just don’t sell.

They make a dye specifically for soft plastics, I bet one of the local shops would have something. If not I’m sure the internet knows where you can get it.

Seems like it usually only comes in ultra bright colors, chartreuse, day glo orange, etc. Don’t know how well it works, and I’d be willing to bet it’s cheaper to buy a new pack of the color you want, but might be fun to try!
