do anybody know how and what i can use to fix the soft spot in my floor.infront of my wood on the floor is the soft spot…not for sure if it is fiberglass or wood.
Found a soft spot in my deck last year. I cut through the gelcoat/fiberglass/wood deck and pulled out all the soft stuff then let it dry out. Afterwards I coated the whole underside with West System epoxy then laminated hotcoated (West System again) oak back under the fiberglass deck.Lowes has thin oak planks back near the trim molding. Lots of clamps involved here.I then installed a Bomar deck plate where the hole was. Deck fixed and I now have additional storage.
hmmmmm!!!
If you aren’t wanting to do anything fancy…just fix the deck you can just cut out a few inches around the rot and replace. I replaced the floor in my bass boat with 3/4" 7 ply and fiberglass matting over top…of course i didnt have to worry about the finish as I just put down carpet. Usually you will find it is fiberglass over wood and if your ■■■■■■■■■■ is rotted chances are you have a stringer or two that might need attention as well
