Solar Battery Maintainers

Anybody use a solar panel to maintain their Batt(s)? If so, how has it worked for you and do you like it?
Sadly I used to be on the water often enough not to worry about this, but recently she’s just been sitting in the yard for long periods.

btt, I’m curious also.

If you can’t stand behind our soldiers, try standing in front of them.

Tried one from Westmarine (the smallest one) pluged into the cigarette lighter and batt switches on. It actually drained them faster…

We have one on our ATV and have it clipped directly to the battery. So far it has kept it charged, no drainage. We got ours from Bass Pro.

What kind of fish is that? Can I eat it?

I built one from 3 small solar panels that a friend gave me and I use it on thet boat that I keep in the water. I’ve had it on for about 6 months and it works like a charm.

I used one on my Key West most of the time.
It seemed to work well, but I didn’t do any tests for hard evidence.
I bought this one from northern tools.

The smaller wattage eliminates the need for a solar charge controller.

Thank you for the replies. Very helpful!

was out on the potomac river when a jet ski battery died. Buddy pulled out about a 2 ft solar pannel… had it charged enough to start in an hour.
