Does anyone have any experience or knowledge about a solar powered battery charger for deep cycle batteries? I am looking for something that can charge my 3 trolling motor batteries when power is not available! . Thanks for any and all help.
i cannot speak for deep cycle, but i have them on an old tractor, horse trailers (bc of electric jacks) and small boat. all starting batteries though. i love them and i cant imagine why they wouldnt work on deep cycle to keeo them charged. hopefully this helps some
I use 2 20 W 2’x4’ solar pannels I bought at Northern about 10 years ago to keep up the batterys on my Bertram as I use an inverter to run the AC and ref and microwave. The have done me a good job! They are now smaller and about 1/2 that price today!
I put one about 3" x 12" on my camper deep cell battery and have not had to touch it since. Was only like $28 off Amazon. It was rated better than most brands and waterproof. Plan to get another for my tractor soon.
Thanks for the info! Do these come with battery clamps? Would I have to buy 3 separate panels to charge all three batteries? Do they make something similar to a charging station where I could plug my 3 bank inboard charger into? Sorry for all the questions, and I really appreciate the help.
They had several different connections but only one set of clamps. If you have three separate 12v setups - not sure of a way to get them all at once. Maybe someone else can help you with that?
Mine came with a quick 2 pole plug and battery clamps! I used the plug and wired it to the main battery and used the Perco switch to jump to alternate battery.
