SOLD 2003 Key West 196 Bay Reef

Listing for my dad. He is the second owner of this boat. The original owner did not have it long before pop bought it. The boat has been meticulously maintained. The boat has been stored under a covered shed along with the boat cover. The main reason for selling the boat is its a little more than he can handle launching by himself. The boat only gets used a couple times a year. Mom and dad just washed and waxed the boat.

Spec’s on the boat.

I had this same boat and motor, then upgraded to the 21’6" Bay Reef. I know it’s crazy, but I fished my 196 Bay Reef at the lake in 12" of water to catching sailfish at Georgetown Hole. It’s not a Pioneer, but it’s a great Charleston boat. Thanks for the post and bringing back lots and lots of good memories. Good luck with the sale as it shouldn’t last long.

We have fished it at the 12 mile reef out of Murrells Inlet. While it’s a bay boat, it handles chop very well. Thanks for the reply.

This is a great boat! I’ve idled beside crap pots sticking halfway out of the water on a mud flat and been to the ledge in it. It does do very well in rough water. Before taking it offshore the first time…I waited for Nor’easter to blow in December and took it across the middle of the lake just to see how it handled. Needless to say I was impressed. Even if I do get a bigger boat, I’ll probably keep this one. It’s the best shrimping boat I’ve ever had because of the big flat deck on the bow.

Life Is Good…Gotta Love It!!!

I had that same boat and motor. Chas 60 no problem, 12" water no problem. Handles rough chop better than my 22’ Pathfinder. Good luck.
