Sold Boat, Now onto Kayak Fishing

Well, after a few months of internal debate in my mind, I went ahead and bit the bullet to sell the big boat. I brought it here from FL when we moved here last year and it just drafts too much and I can’t mount a trolling motor on it. So I am now looking to Yak it in the near future.

The costs of ownership of the big boat was just too much right now. Maybe in the future, we can look at getting another boat. But for now, I think I will look into fishing out of a kayak.

My question is this, where can I go try out some kayaks? I am heavily leaning towards a Hobie with a mirage drive system for one reason. I have a bad wrist. And I am not sure how long it can handle a paddle. I have no idea where to start. But I am going to research the mess out of these things and go from there.

Go see Dave at Time Out Sport in Mt Pleasant. They carry a full line of kayaks and Dave can walk you through the relative meritsof the different models.
