Seriously why does everyone sell their boat when they have a baby? Babies don’t cost that much the first few years. Are you giving up fishing because of the baby? I just don’t get it.

I have a 2 year old and a 3 1/2 month old. I sold my offshore boat last week and purchased my neighbors 17’ inshore flats boat.
It’s not the babies that force us to sell our boats, it’s the WIVES!!! Kids put more stress on a relationship for you to be home, and spending time with them (THE WIFE!!!). A 3 month old baby doesn’t care if you go fishing all day, but a WIFE at home on a Saturday with said 3 month old DOES!!! Add a kid and it triples!
My boat would have done nothing but sit for the next couple years, so I’m getting back into inshore for now - which is much less work, money, and less time consuming IMO… I can be in the water in 30 minutes after work, fish a couple hours, and be home in time to have a glass of wine with the wife. Fish a few hours on the weekends, and home by 2 pm…
Someday I will be back in an offshore rig, maybe…
Well said Cane. I’ll add that there’s more than the boat that’s gonna go. The toys are just that, TOYS. They can be replaced. Between hunting, fishing, golfing, and the Harley, there’s not much time for anything else. I’ll still fish, just not on my terms.
Here we go again. Boat needs to go. Sacrifice at $25000. I just looked thru the classifieds and there’s not a boat that’ll do what this one will do in it’s respective class for this price!

that’s a steal right there. Somebody needs to buy this thing. Verado w/ warranty, Smartcraft package, trolling motor, electronics, T Top. That’s a great deal on that boat and I would have snagged it if it didn’t have a t top and I didn’t run across a screaming deal on a brand new one (same model) without one.
