Sold the boat - now the gear

How do you guys go about pricing gear when you sell it?

Sold the boat, looking to get rid of the gear
2 x Shimano Tyrnos 2-Speed 20
2 x Shimano Tyrnos 2-Speed 30
2 x Okuma Silver 2-Speed 50
1 x Avet 50/2 Inline Setup
6’ Aftco Gaff

  • Assorted Lures n ‘Stuff’

Any thoughts on fair pricing? Gear is all in good shape, not show-room, but good.

Nothing but a bare spot on the lawn where the boat used to be

How much for the whole lot?

I’d be interested in some lures

Apologies for the delay in response, unexpected work commitments - same story that lead to the boat being sold (you all know how it goes).

Added photos per general request.

Thanks very much to those that have responded. In hindsight, I probably should have put this post in the Trading/Classified section.

The main focus of my request was not so much to advertise them for sale, but to get a ‘feel’ of what would be a good price as a ‘job lot’. I’m really not interested in piece-mealing it out, while I might get higher value that way, I have other projects I would like to get started on and don’t want to drag this out in one-sie, two-sie’s.

Any thoughts on a fair price? Do you think $900 for the lot is fair?

Work isn’t a problem any more, but the weather for the past year certainly has been. Most of us feel your pain.

Thanks to all that responded. Gear is sold to the first PM I received.

Nice to know it went to a young guy just starting his offshore experience out of Charleston. Wish him the best of luck.

The formulae of availability + crew availability + weather just wasn’t working for me. The other formulae of boat payment + taxes + fuel + bait + + + as compared against how much I could use it just didn’t make sense.

Looking at the prices for the charter boys, I could do full day charters outright, fish more, do less, and still come out ahead in terms of results and finance.

Good luck to all.

How long did that take for you to realize these important life lessons??? My father said I was a fool to keep an offshore boat and in the way things weigh out, he was right on money wasted...but wrong on the experience...lessons learned.
