Pardon my ignorance, Rap, but the 650 size is the equivalent of a 3000 size? Please clarify.

“I’m not a hundred percent in love with your tone right now…”

The 650 is equivalent to a 6000 size.

I’d prefer cash but am open to trades

Rap, be honest, are these good tarpon and cobia rods here? Or do I need to stick with an 7k or 8k I’m under the assumption the least for poons is a 7000

Yakman, I use the 650s for Kingfish, Cobia and live bait fishing. And 2 of the 4 are 20 years old and still catching fish.

I replaced my 35 year old version with a 650ssm last year. It’s probably one of the most versatile and legendary reels ever made. Great for bottom fishing the reefs, surf fishing etc. Everyone should have one of these. My grandfather swore by Penn and since I still use many of the reels that he passed down to me, I have to agree with him.

If two wrongs don’t make a right, try three.

I have two 650’s that were my dads they are 20+ years old. I also have 2 750’s and an 850 that have been great so far.

I have caught plenty of big tarpon on these reels
