A couple of us decided to take advantage of the weather on Tuesday morning. Hit the ICW at sunrise and headed to the first hole. Caught a decent slot red on first cast and a nice over slot about 5 mins later. Both fish were caught on gulp grubs. Continued working out the area and nothing. Switched to frozen shrimp and caught a small rat. Tide started getting low so we decided to move to our next spot. After floating through some skinny water, we made it to the next hole. Ended up spending the rest of our day there. Final total was 17 reds, 6 sheep, 1 trout, and 1 black drum. Reds were a solid mix of slot and over slot. Largest was about 30". Aside from first two reds, all fish were caught on frozen shrimp. Most fish caught on falling tide, with a few caught on the incoming. Water was clear and 55. Hope to see y’all out there soon.
That blue tail is beautiful. Nice photos.
Were you fishing the frozen shrimp on a carolina rig and letting it just sit on the bottom? Is there any other way to fish frozen shrimp?
I was thinking the same thing. If it wasn’t for the date of the post and some of the leaf-less trees in the background, you’d think this was a summer time post. Lol!!!
No matter how much it hurts, how dark it gets, or how far you fall…you are never out of the fight.
