A last-minute weekend trip to Murrells Inlet paid off for us this weekend.
Saturday was a little overcast and had a little chop at the jetties, but that didn’t stop us from putting five reds in the boat (three 14 inchers, one 16 incher, and one 22 incher), in addition to the usual BSB, toadfish, and a small ladyfish.
Sunday was a little clearer but even choppier. We were the only ones out at the jetty on the falling tide, but we didn’t mind when we netted five more reds and a large weakfish (again, three under slot and two slot).
Not bad action for September. All bites except for one were on cut mullet, with the other on a live mud minnow.
