Nice vid’s. What kind of depth were you in?

A wise man once said “Do as I say not as I do” Good advice when I tell you that.

Nice job. Triggers and bsb seemed to want lots of camera time.

Whs

these are 2 of the 6 spots I have video of. All 70-110’. It’s hard to see past the fish in the cameras lens, but I was able to see what I was looking for in the Videos.

Spadefish galore…

Great video footage. Thank you for sharing. I dropped mine in 90 feet last Saturday but it wasn’t nearly as stable as yours. Could you post a picture of the contraption you sent your camera to the bottom with? I’m curious to see how you deployed it.

WOW. Videos are Great. Would also be interested in your contraption.

It’s a piece of EMT about 32" long that I poured about 10" of lead in, then topped off with silicone caulk and squeezed the top closed. Drilled hole and attached a small shackle and wrapped it all with electrical tape as I didn’t want it to be shiny to help eliminate toothy ones from striking at it.

As you can see, the camera is attractive enough for some of them:smiley:!

it’s sent down on a bent butt rod sitting in the holder. Once down, the current/drag against the camera seems to keep it pretty stable.

Thanks for the comps!

You are in the right place!

If it got any better I couldn’t stand it.

nice! what kind of rig do you use to drop it with? im considering lowering mine in the tailrace when the herring come in thick and definitely in the pogy pods during the summer.

Nice videos!! Always neat to see the underwater world undisturbed. Now, how to capture a hook-up on the bottom?!?

I was contemplating rigging up one of these as well. Thought about filling a couple foot section PVC pipe with weight (maybe quikrete or something) and a hose clamp for a GoPro attachment device on it. Have a eye bolt coming out of the top to attach line to.

Will water clarity be good enough to do that?

Thanks for posting, that’s some cool stuff.

Pretty cool…

I was amazed at how well you could hear the clicking of the sonar and the outboard motor. It’s a wonder they don’t all scatter.
