Something for my boat

I finally had the time to make something for my own boat.

Thanks to sea tonic for supplying the swim ladder that I salvaged the brackets from, and to Jason Blocker for getting it to me.

Reel purdy. That almost requires a new boat to mount it on

Very nice Bob. I need something like that on my boat.

Almost makes you want to fall off of your boat just so you can climb back in.

</font id=“quote”></blockquote id=“quote”>First, beautiful work. As always.

Second, why do people mount that folding step on the top of the swim platform instead of the bottom?

Man, that’s nice, every boat need one! Have fallen overboard while shrimping and with out the ladder I have had to crawl up on the motor and be trimmed up to get in the boat!!

One of the main reasons I built it, is because the ol’ lady was afraid I would fall out of the boat & not be able to get back in. I keep telling her that I’m not that old (or fat!) If I can still pick up my almost 700lb. motorsickle, I can still get back into the boat.

DoubleN, it’s all TIG welded.

iFly, the way the brackets are made, they keep the ladder from moving forward when you step on it. A little steadier to step on. If you’ll look in the top photo, you can barely make out the tab on the bottom of the bracket.

And for you guys that need/want one for your boat, give me a call & let’s see what we can do.

PS: And Cracker Larry, I don’t need a new boat, I just need to make the boat I have look as good as my swim platform.:smiley:

I say there is only one thing wrong with that…it’s not on my boat:smiley:

I really like the rubber tread over aluminum platform better than my Starboard. Very nice! I would prefer more than one step on the ladder though. Think about if an injured, tired or un-physically fit person has to climb in. This ladder on that platform would be perfect. Not criticizing, all ideas and projects are under continuous refinement

I’d like to have a ladder like that, but it would be hard to find one with the width I need, since I built my platform based on where I could thru bolt. If I came across a really good deal on a 2 or 3 step ladder, I would just build another platform to accommodate the ladder. I built this one with leftover pipe that I had laying around. The aluminum tread with the rubber insert was a 6’ sample piece, given to me about 8 yrs. ago. I just never had a use for it, until now.
