went out to the boat this morning to check it out for possibly useing it tomorrow. hit the bilge pump…nothing. the relay light didn’t even come on. tried the horn…same thing. on well must have a wireing problem i thought. tried the motor… it would crank but not turn over. it was turning over slowly and would backfire but not run. so i figured well might as well charge the battrie and see if that helps. charged the battrie for a couple of hrs, went to check it out . the bilge pump was running. apparently the battrie was so low that pump would not not run but the motor would still try to crank. low voltage does some weird things. the motor cranked and ran fine when the battrie was charged properly. motor is a 115 yammy.
almost sounds like a loose battery cable. check them and make sure they arent loose. it will cause a lot of weird problems

Had the same problem last year in my Scout. Cost me a battery because I left the plug in and the auto-bilge pump dropped the voltage to the point of no return. Added a second battery this year and moved the auto portion to the output of the battery selector. Now all my electrical load is off, just have to make sure that if the boat is in the water docked not to turn switch off.
