My Eagle has finally bit the dust. I am looking at the new Humminbirds with the SI and was wonderning if any one has any experience with them, or what other brands may be recommended for reliability and durability. Your opinions are greatly appreciated. Thanks.
I installed one on a friends boat last October, then we took it out grouper fishing in the Gulf of Mexico. It was incredible, more like having a video camera than a sonar. Leaving the canal we could clearly see every dock piling, the fish around them, old tires on the bottom…
We got out to an artificial reef and the SI clearly showed every reef ball, every rubble pile, a bridge span, just as if you drew a 3D picture of it.
Want to know which dock is holding redfish and trout? No need to cast blind, just ride down the docks and the SI will show them. Want to know the best best pilings to fish cobia in the Broad River? Just ride along the bridge and look for the fish.
Trying to find a small wreck in a big ocean, the SI will tell you it’s 65 feet to your right
