Hello,
I’m needing a little help with setting up my Lowrance Elite Ti-12 with a total scan transducer. Specifically with getting a better image or clarity while in saltwater or shrimping in shallow waters such as BB/Cowpens? For the most part when I use the unit in a lake I can adjust it to where I can get clear images between fish and bait fish. I remember a post last year on how some folks would get their units to show nice clear images of shrimp especially for deep-holing.
I’ve messed with it out at Cowpens last week but I couldn’t discern what i was seeing most of the time. I know salt water has more trash in it and most would say to turn down the sensitivity but when do, I lose a lot of what was being marked before. Any help would be appreciated.
Forgot my shrimping report: Sunday 9/23 went to Cowpens for my first trip of the year. Shrimped the out going tide and got about a third of a cooler. Had a friend that does not know how to do anything like back a boat down, drive a boat, but at lease he can throw a 6ft. cast net. Started out trying out Bait Binder and it didn’t work out as planned. Switched to my own bait mix and started gathering the shrimp in. All in all not bad considering the late start and me basically throwing at a single pole all day (used the trolling motor). Mixed sizes and shrimp not thick in the area.
Care to explain your bait recipe?

I mix some menhaden milk in my bait binder and always seem to catch more than those around me… years ago we mixed canned dog food, worked well

so I take it you prefer the taste of bait binder or fish meal without seasoning? haha… you don’t taste it man, back before all those big bags of clay and fish meal or bait binder existed we all used pluff mud and dog food to bait for shrimp… you’re just spoiled… lol
