Son's Trout and flounder

Whenever the wife leaves me with the kids we always seem to end up at the dock. My son loves to throw the cast net, while my daughter chases crabs and throws rocks. We always bring along the fishing poles just in case. We couldn’t find any bait, but a nice gentleman gave us some mud minnows to fish with. The gnats were eating my daughter and I alive, so we headed to the car. My son is a die hard fisherman and stayed down at the dock. After a few casts, I hear him yelling and waving at me. You would have thought he was fighting a 30 inch red. He did end up with this nice trout, and a smile that lasted all the way home. He couldn’t wait to call his mom! Here is the trout!

So we sat out our own trap this morning and just got back from the dock with this little flattie! Mud minnows on a red jig head, (a trick I learned from Vinman), was the ticket.

Good stuff, Chris!

Time spent with kids now will parlay into good citizens one day. Good for you!
