Soooo…what’s your guess on what’s it gonna take to win the kayak tournament, how many feet? I’m guessing at least 20 - 25 feet.

i dont see it being that much unless someone really tears up the trout remember gentelmen lets be truthful no fish tails

I caught 20 trout in two hours in the stono saturday… so we’ll see.
i really wish they would separate the categories of fish…and still have an overall winner for all the fish…
i only target the reds so thats all i’ll be after sat…its too easy to just get in a trout hole… i dunno
Yeah, it would be nice to see three 30" spot-tails beat twenty 12" trout.
Stinky (a.k.a Bob H.)
it might be easy finding a trout hole, but its not always so easy catchin the big ones.but i see your point,i caught 17 trout in 2 hours or so the other day on the stono with a 22,and a couple of 17s,a15 0r 3…

Seriously I think whoever has the endurance and desire to fish in a kayak all day will take the prize. I know I’m hurting after a few hours…
And thats where I come in, I plan on being on the water for at least 12 hours that day if not longer, Patrick you still in for the long haul with me?
Thats why they call it fishing, not catching
markbob im going to do 8 hours myself going to be sitting comfortably though going to try out that new boat dave has

It’s nice man, sat and stood in it today from 10:30 to 6 and it was very comfortable. Bring a cast net with you, and if you have a longer paddle, use it for standing up and poling or paddling while standing. Plenty of room for gear and it wasn’t in the way.
Wish I could fish this weekend, good luck to everyone who makes it out!

Fire Jeff Bowden!!!
palmettobum is on the money.this will be a battle of attrition sp?.the guy that can catch trout and alot of them will have the biggest score.

Remember that the fish has to exceed it’s minimum size (Flounder 12", Trout 13" and Redfish 15") to be recorded as a “catch”. My guess is that some “Trout-Weenie” will win it. But if one person land twenty 13" trout and someone else lands seven 36" Reds, REALLY who’s the better fisherman/fisherwoman? I’ll be stalking the reds myself.
Stinky Fingers (a.k.a. Bob H)
trout weenie? lol…i guess i could make the arguement that any idiot can catch spottail.put a mullet steak in their face and they cant resist…but then i guess if the trout fishermen are weenies i guess so are the spottail fishermen.flounder fishermen are better,or are they weenies too? lol just kiddin sf-were all fishermen-if 3 big spottail win,i guess it would be a better win…might note:caught a 27in and a 22in. and 2 15 in.on electric chicken while fishing for trout. lol

Hey Willy
You forgot to mention my “special” redfish pole which is a 12/0 Penn Electric Reel with 24 Volt Turbo Boost welded to a 6 foot barbell spooled up with 300 yards of 125 pound aircraft cable Now, I do like the way it hydroplanes the Reds across the top of the water but the problem is it’ll rip the lips right off any trout that’s brave enough to hit my “slab-o-mullet” . Best of luck to all in the tourney (including the Trout-Weenies….ahhh….I mean Trout-Fishermen/Fisherwomen).
Lookin’ forward to havin’ a couple of beers with the group.
Stinky (a.k.a Bob H.)
