Is there anywhere other than Haddrells or Charleston Angler to get live bait that is more on the Summerville/North Charleston side of town? The guys at Haddrell’s have been great, but just wondered if there is anything closer to where I live. Thanks!
Bait is free! Just gotta catch it. Easier than you think! Buy a cheap net at wally world, watch a youtube video, practice with your kids on the lawn. I wish I had kids to help me catch bait!
Mud minnows occasionally fiddlers and lots of live freshwater baits (shiners, cricket, ect.) at Duncans Stop and Shop on Redbank next to Goose Creek High School. Decent selection of tackle as well and you will ‘pay’ for the convenience. They aren’t the friendliest bunch in there so don’t expect a high five and lots of smiles but they typically have what you need. They also sell NON E gas. Hope this helps a little and saves a little time.
Besides that, these guys make a great point, time permitting it’s the time of year where at low tide you should be able to find more bait than you’ll need for any one fishing trip. Good luck out there.
