I am going to get a Kayak so I can start fishing again. I used to fish and dive out of an Ocean Kayak about 10 yrs ago and was set on getting a heritage redfish but have started thinking about some of the touring kayaks as well for speed . I will mostly be fly fishing, any recommendations out there.
I am a big fan of the Tarpon SOT from wilderness systems for a fishing boat. They offer them in 10, 12, 14, and 16 foot sizes. The pungo from wilderness is also a good boat for a sit inside. How much water do you want to cover, and with how much gear?? Some of the day touring boats like the Wilderness Tsunami or the Necky Zoar sport make good compromise boats, they are fast for their size, but have more room in the cockpit than traditional touring boats. Time Out sports in Mt. Pleasant has a good selection of boats for sale and for rent.
