I have to stay over a weekend down in Miami for business the 1st weekend in Feb. Was looking to get a charter for Saturday and wanted some suggestions. Go west to the everglades or go south to the keys? Want to get skinny and throw the fly around for some sight fishing. Any suggestions, based on the weather and target species this time of year? Thanks
Joe Gonzalez if you decide to fish Miami-fishes from Key Biscayne more specifically. Book early though. Follow him on facebook and youll get an idea how hes doing.

there are a lot of great ones in the Miami area. tough time of the year there. I have fished with mo Estevez (captmo@netzero.com Tel:(786)853-1409) several times and for freshwater peacocks/snook/tarpon Cordell Baum is a good time. The freshwater game may be more exciting than the bay. I love fishing down there.

here’s your guy. Capt. … Russell Kleppinger (786#8209;290#8209;3474; captruss1@bellsouth.net) https://www.facebook.com/fishpicks
if you get bored, try behind the Macy’s at the miami mall (i think it twas) for peacock bass. clear water canal.
Like mentioned you don’t have to go anywhere to get good flats fishing. Biscayne has some great flats fishing. JoeGon is a class act for sure. Haven’t fished with him in years, but he’s about the nicest/fishiest dude around. There are tons more, but I’d try him first. If you want Flamingo or keys guides that would be a different story.
Bob Lemay is a good bet, he guides around Miami but also frequently fishes over in the Everglades. 954-435-5666
I have never fished with Russell Kleppinger, only familiar with him because of the fraternity of the brand of boat he has, but have seen good reports. I think he fishes just around Miami not in the Glades.
I plan on living forever, so far so good
