Gonna be down for a March Madness trip (March 21, 22, n 23) and there is a little inlet just south of the Little River Inlet. What is it’s name? Is it just as good as the inlet area for trout and drum as the Little River? I’ll have my kayak with me and don’t mind the paddle. Looks like I can put in at the Cherry Grove Boat Landing. Any particular artificial, paddle tail, or curly tails, colors, top water? Oh, good bait shop for shrimp? Staying in North Myrtle.
Thanks!
PS, posted this in the Kayak forum as well.
I always have good luck with the white 4" gulp swimming mullet also the gulp shrimp in natural or new penny
Cherry Grove inlet is called Hogg inlet, in between Hogg and LR inlet is called Dunn sound. Good fishing in both…

You should be able to find some pups schooled up in the back creeks. And with that stealthy ride you got, you shouldn’t have to worry about spooking them. Good luck, man!
Cool, thanks for the replies, I appreciate it and will make the necessary adjustments!
Just out of curiosity, how is the beach fishing in that area?
Not too much unitl fall on the surf fishing. It’ll be ok for the reds in special certain areas, but generally not to good.
