caught a few earlier this summer on a very small tan gotcha

jedi has it right… in chesapeake we would chum them up over wrecks on slack tide with canned clams (some in chumbag, some looose), a small whitish-tan fly looking like clam part worked sometimes, red shortshank hook with cigarrette cellaphane lashed to it with small rubber band worked better, they have good eyesight and can be very cautious so nothing worked everytime… perfectly matching chum sink rate and drift is paramount…they can really tug, so good drag and knots are necessary to keep them out of structure below

Caught this one this summer on a small jelly fish fly I tied. Be patient. It took Jerms and I all day to get this one fish to eat. It was all worth it though when he was bending the hell out of the 7wt.

You can see the fly in these pics.

A piece of sponge will will work too. The natural sponge not the brillo type.
