Hey I have a question for you all. I am in Florida fishing and we ran up on a school of about 100+ Spadefish. We caught a few but threw them back. I want to know can you eat them. Have any of you ate them before??

They don’t freeze well. Keep a couple to eat fresh, and throw the rest back. They are excellent fare

Just got back from Panama City Beach Spearfishing and Deep Sea Fishing. Saw biiiiig schools of Spadefish. Some of the spadefish in them schools i know every bit of 18-20+ inches. They were humongous. Have video on my gopro. Will have to get it downloaded for you all… FYI no we didnt spear them we caught them on rods but speared Snappers…
Tastes like and is as good as flounder, looks like flounder on the plate.
