You can find them just outside the jetties around the shipping channel with regularity, just look for the birds. You can also find them around the harbor in the early morning and early evening hours. Trolling a clark spoon around a school is very productive or stopping and casting to them also works. In the harbor we wait to see them and cast to them. We also cast areas where we keep seeing them come up and catch them when they are down.

I would also suggest using the Search Feature on the website. There have been many posts on this topic. Just don’t run straight through the school especially if you see someone else “working it”.
Between my friends boat and mine we caught close to 20 on sat. just put a #1 planer with a clark spoon and troll up the coast on the color change line. Bring many multiple spoons of diff. colors cause they were ONLY hitting certain colors different days.

How many rigs do you guys generally put out? What would be the minium number to put out?
I usually put two rods with planners and spoons out and 1 on top fishin out of my 16 foot skiff but on bigger boats ill pull 2 planner rods and 2 or 3 up with spoons or gotcha plugs.
good to hear your catching them harris…
I tried to call you yesterday JD, I needed some help figuring out how to get those dern kings. and from what I hear, you know your s**t about them
Harry Sea. Thats how I roll.
bigger baits… big plugs 20ft behind a trolling sinker big drone spoons and plainers… but best is live bait for the bigger ones…
