Any of y’all heading offshore the last few days see Spanish mackerel busting up top on your way out? May hit shipping channel tomorrow morning looking for spaniards.
Thanks!

When I lived in Florida I can’t tell you how many times the Spanish saved the day. If you have ever had Ted Peters smoked Mackerel you can truly appreciate the tasty Spaniards. I will be out weather permitting to see if I can find the bait bustin. Good luck and hope your boat gets bloody!!
Tried unsuccessfully to catch Spanish on Saturday around jetties and little beyond. The birds were no help as they were totally focused on shrimp boats.
Trolled in the lumpy channel for a couple hours this AM. Nothing on the surface except dolphin and birds behind the shrimper , pulling net down the channel center.
Boated 6 spanish, 2 with size, all hit the deeper planer. Not one hit a flat line, #1 planer, spoon/jig combo, or 2-3 oz trolling weight. Even a sea bass was caught on the spoon.
Hit green/silver and gold Clark spoons- but it seemed to be the depth.
One caught over Nearshore. Reef.
Fresh spanish is one of my favorite meals.
Brought no ice, and flounder and tuna already the dinner menu, so back they went for one of you guys.
Yeah, flounder and tuna outrank spanish on my list too. But fresh broiled spanish is (**() good.
