Have Any of you guys who have gone offshore recently
seen spanish in the shipping channel on your way out in the early morning?
We usually target them in the early summer which is quickly approaching!
I did not see any Saturday when I was going out but that dont mean they are not there. I have not heard anyone really say anything about it lately either. Good luck when you get out there.
had small spanish jumping round the boat 1 week ago at capers.
Small spanish at capers- that would be a blast to catch. I saw a school of what I think was menhaden in the folly river the other day surfacing. they were pretty shiny silver and I thought they were blues or spanish at first. Pretty cool sight.
I think the colder weather later in April in May has delayed the bait and thus fish coming inshore.
So probably early June would be pretty reliable to get Spanish? Any other areas for them besides shipping channel? Can’t always get out with my bay boat. Thanks fellas!
