Went to a public dove feild in St Stephen yesterday. Was getting checked by the game warden, when some birds started flying. As we were talking about the lack of doves. We watched a small sparrow hawk flying over the feild. Well someone must have thought it was a dove and shot at it. They winged it and mr green jeans said gotta go guys, they just shot a hawk. He proceeded to drive straight across the feild to hook someone up with a healthy fine. I dont think i will ever forget the look on his face as we watched the sparrow hawk helicopter down to the ground. Glad to see mr green jeans for once. Timing could not have been more perfect. Packed up with one dove and left for home.

Sad they shot a hawk. Seeing less and less of those little hunters on power lines. Glad the warden was there to make the bust.
Went to the field up at Eutaw Springs a couple of weeks ago and saw 3 kestrels shot at and 1 killed. Looks like they need to start testing bird id skills before letting folks onto the field.
