We did 3 days of filming for Outdoor Channel for the spearfishing show “Speargun Hunter” with Sheri Daye this past weekend. Got some pretty exciting video that should make for a few good shows.
Sheri and i tag teamed a slob of a cobia. it came back to life after 3 shafts and kicked my ass a bit. Ripped my regulator so every time i took a breath it was 1/2 water. We got a lot of other fish on video including big scamps, gags, hogs, lionfish, sheepshead, flounder, lobster etc. The episodes should air some time in January.
This is a video from my gun mounted camera. You can hear me yelling at the start to get sheri’s attention when i saw the cobia. There was a bunch of big ones laying in the sand with a stingray. I can’t wait to see the final product.

Very cool rob! Let us know when it airs. I heard through the grapevine you were going to run a Freeman during this?? That does not look like a Freeman…
Set the trap boys, we going to pass through them again!!
OK I am really jealous. Watching Speargun Hunter is what originally get me interested in the sport. When I started diving here in Charleston I knew that the show would have a killer episode if they were taken out and put on some good habitat here in Charleston. Would have been nice if Sheri had gotten one of the 20+lb hogs that we have but I’m sure she was stoked about the cobia.

I can find the 2009 series on DVD online but can’t find the later seasons anywhere. Anyone have any ideas where I could find it? I don’t have cable TV.

Nice footage Rob. It looked like all the cobia with that ray were pretty beasty! Biggest ones i have seen yet this year. Very cool grouper footage and nice shooting
