Spooling up some power pro on my spinning reel. Do I do it just how it shows between the knees? I already have it I just thought will it get to much memory from spooling it on the reel like that? Just wanted to ask don’t want to wast $30 line.
I do it like it shows on the package, so far no problems.

I normally use a line spooler, but if you think about how it works, all you really need is a pencil and a spool. I put the spool on the pencil and put it in a drawer so the spool will rotate, but not move anywhere else. Don’t let the spool twist and roll around while you put the line on the reel as it will twist awkwardly.
Make sure there’s some pressure on the line as you’re putting it on by pinching the line. If there’s no pressure on the line it will spool somewhat loosely. The tighter it is when you put it on the spool, the more line you’ll fit. If you buy a 300 yard spool of line, might as well use it all if possible.
After a season or two of fishing, there’s no doubt you’ll lose a few feet of line here and there and the end your fishing will get somewhat worn out. Don’t throw it away just yet though. You can reverse the line on your spool and have a fresh working end of your line. If you do that and wear out both ends, look towards the middle of the line and see what condition that’s in. If push comes to shove, cut off the 50 yards or so that’s worn out as you’ll still probably have a lot left over. Just another tip to get the most out of that expensive braided line.

Take a minute and watch this vid. Hands down the best way to spool braided line.
You can also substitute mono backing for the tape. The paper towel trick works for braid or mono.
Power Pro does not have memory…sort of like me. Once spooled do not rig it and the first time you hit the water, let out most of the line at a fast idle speed and then reel it back up…without anything attached to the line. Crank the drag tight to do this. This should lay the line on the reel correctly.
I also do this as often as I can just to straighten the line out, seems to help in casting distance.
reelly…
That’s the best way I know of to get rid of line twist.

I’d say, judging by his screen name, this may prove to be a little difficult…
