Spoon Only Tx?

Seems like there’s a lot more interest these days in fishing spoons than years ago. (Special thanks to Ben Parker… LOL)

Just putting it out there to see if there would be enough interest to put together a little Spoons Only Tournament one Sat or Sun am for a few hours.

Thinking in the next couple of weeks from something like 6 - 10 am. $10 a person

We’re in …

… it’s my Wife’s fault we HAVE to fish !!!

2005 Sea Pro 2100cc / Yamaha 150hp 4-Stroke

Me plus 1 could be more, but definitely me +1

I have no idea what you’re talking about … There was a time when I couldn’t get a spoon bite in a stocked pond, but I’ve worked all that out now …

Last year the spoon bite was awesome … One evening I ran two spoons against Liz’s 6 live herring and I had three in the boat and one on the line before she hooked up on her first one … She eventually caught up … after I limited …

Yeah I’m in +1

I should be in!

I’m interested. It’s a sure bet a certain one of my Hardcore teammates would be extremely interested!

I don’t know, Fog. It’s been a few days since I’ve had a spoon bite and it’s been about ten days since I caught my last keeper on a spoon. Maybe I should think about it for a second… OK, enough thinking, I’ll be fishing if my schedule allows.

If it’s a Sunday, I’m in plus one. Saturday might be a maybe. (Even though I have never caught a single striper on a spoon)

Sunday am is best for me too. Going go plan on July 8th. I’ll put something together with details soon.

I’m not going to worry about collecting the $ up front and keeping up with who’s in and all that. I’ll post the plan and people will just have to commit by 6PM the day before and bring their 10 bux to the weigh in.

I gotta say, it is kinda intimidating to be fishing a spoons only tx with a guy that has a screen name “Spoonmaster”!

Ha HA! I just get lucky with the spoons. Truly, they are my favorite winter baits to fish. That’s when they really shine. For what it’s worth, all of my biggest spoon caught stripers and largemouth bit the little 1/2 ounce Berry spoons. I haven’t caught a big striper on the Ben Parker yet, but I keep hoping I can catch one big enough to swallow it!

I’ve heard you were born with a Berry Spoon in your mouth.
