Spoon Tx Sun am

Ran into DJ, the winner from last time, the other day and we talked about doing this again Sunday morning for a few hours if anyone is interested.

Lines in 6:00 - Lines out 9:30. $10. Weigh in 9:45 at Spence. Big fish takes all.

Man! Probably going to miss this one too. Oh well, based on my recent successes and struggles, I think you’re quitting when you should be starting. I’m not saying it’s impossible to catch good fish early with metal, but full on sunshine sure does help. Good luck to those who fish it.

James, last time we only had 4 boats, fished these hours and 34 fish were caught.

10-4. If I didn’t have other commitments, I’d come give it a whirl with y’all.

Sorry, I’m tied up too, with Fogman.

Tim, Do you know if anyone tried chumming in the last tournament? 91Tiger and I didn’t chum but still caught our limits.

I did that day for the first time ever while spoon fishing, but it didn’t help us much. Not sure if anyone else did.

The other day at the Hill we never hooked up on a spoon till we started chumming and drumming! Most in 20’ water on 4" crome Hopkins

Never fished there. Is that normal to catch stripers there in 20’ this time of year?

Can’t imagine catching a striper on Murray right now in 20 fow. Trolled Tues evening and got them about 65-70’ and marked some even deeper.

Up in the tailrace below Russell Dam, you can catch stripers year round if they’ve been running water in 20 feet or less, but you have to be careful. Trees are everywhere when you get the least little bit out of the channel. It’s the ones we can’t see that are worrisome.

On Murray, we’ve had fish follow the spoon from the bottom in 100+ to just under the surface. We had several fish on Tuesday hook up at 20-30 feet. One was a good one that Spoon fought for 3 minutes before it spit the hook.

So I guess no takers on the spoon TX for Sunday? I’m going to bait fish in the morning and see what happens with the spoons too. Full moon should have em chewing.

Yea. Not enough interest to mess with it.

Good luck!

I talked to my neighbor and we decided to bait fish. I’ll try spoons as well, but I’m not as confident in my spoon catching abilities.
