Spotfin Hogfish and Lionfish

Good catch on the Lionfish… Kill the buggers, THEN eat them. I have seen them about the size of a basketball, in the Gardens area. They are eating EVERYTHING around, and ruining the reefs. If we all developed a “taste” for them, we could target them, & help the reefs a little.

FWIW… Lionfish MIGHT be the only thing we can fish for, next year! Bastards!

Lionfish do eat well. We were in a “Lionfish Tournament” this summer in the Bahamas and all of the divers were pleasantly suprised - the dive guides were experts on handling them, and they cooked them the last night.

Short grass and tight lines, make a man feel so fine!
